Hillscout Strategies, LLC was founded in 2021 by Will Watson, a seasoned political and nonprofit strategist based in Fayetteville, Arkansas and Saline County, Arkansas. Will is a veteran of nine political cycles, having worked on federal, state, and local campaigns as well as creating and executing membership and development programs at some of the most dynamic nonprofits in Northwest Arkansas.

Will has helped elect more than a half-dozen members of the Arkansas legislature and run field operations for campaigns for the United States Senate, United States Congress, and the statewide Democratic Party. He has consulted on races for district and circuit court judge, countywide executive office, and races for high school and university student body president (where he remains undefeated).
Hillscout has offices just off the historic downtown square in Fayetteville and often operates from the front porch of the Watson family home in unincorporated Saline County, the shores of Lake Ouachita, or the hills of the Boston Mountains. Will has put more than 10,000 miles on a Subaru Crosstrek in pursuit of good trouble around Arkansas.
What about the name?
Hillscout is a tribute to family and deep roots in Arkansas. In 1827, Will’s great-great-great-great-grandfather Peter Luginbyhl was born in Bern, Switzerland, and later immigrated to the United States. He is buried in Dutch Mills in Washington County, Arkansas. In old South German, Luginbyhl means “to scout the hills.”
